This simple SAO adapts the Nintendo Wii (and similar) game controllers to the SAO port on a badge or similar project with and I2C port. The Wii Nunchuck is iconic and represents one of many controllers in a family of products which communicate through I2C. This SAO makes it easy to connect with.
I enjoy physically interactive badges and SAOs and I wanted a way to connect the Wii Nunchuck for some experimenting. The Nunchuck is cheap ($10-15 used) and offers an analog joystick, x-y-z accelerometers, and two buttons in a compact and ergonomic grip.
The shape of the PCB provides the connection for the Wii accessory on the top edge. The bottom edge accepts the included SAO pin header either perpendicular or parallel to the board, depending on your needs and how you install the connector. I even included some two QWIIC sockets to extend the I2C fun!
This product consists of the PCB, a Shrouded SAO Pin Header, and two QWIIC sockets. You get to solder these three simple connects onto the board. The Nunchuck is NOT included.
