SAO Demo Controller and Development Board

$39.00

Simple Add-Ons often need a brain and almost always need power, and that is exactly what this device brings. But wait, there’s more!

It is a custom carrier board which brings together several power source options with an RP2040-Zero onboard, input voltage monitor, 3.3V voltage booster, output current monitoring, and four user-defineable buttons. This device is a convenient companion to several of the other SAOs available here and on other sites.

Power source options (5.5V absolute maximum!):

  • USB-C port (also used for programming)

  • Any badge SAO Output port

  • 1S LiPo Cell

  • Primary Batteries like the commonly available “AA” and “"AAA” size

  • Solar panel

This Demo Controller can also be configured to send power back to a badge, acting as an external battery pack.

A QWIIC aka STEMMA QT port is installed on the board to make it easy to use with those ecosystems. See Sparkfun and Adafruit.

The RP2040-Zero is programmable with Arduino, Circuit Python, C++.

A 3D-printed case, cover, and an SAO shrouded pin header are included.
